Hasn't voted | Believe it or not, no one in Walenstadt was injured. There was damage to the forest and some houses. This occured in 2003. | | Posted May 3, 2005 3:36 pm |

 | | Claude Mauguier | Re: Brrrrr ! | | Hasn't voted | Strangely enough, such a powder avalanche should have blown away everything all around. But maybe it involved from one part the collapse of the (right portion) summit cornice - more hard and compact - together with powder snow stratas on the other part, laid on the middle ledge, thus giving a mixed type between winter and spring avalanches. But the shot is first class ! | | Posted Jun 11, 2005 5:11 am |

Voted 10/10 | .... great shot! I already saw a lot of avalanche fotos, also from the Himalayas and the Andes, but this one is special, because the proximity of the human settlement to the big cloud makes it really looking scary and mighty.
This one would really deserve to be foto of the week. | | Posted Jun 21, 2005 1:10 am |

Hasn't voted | I've been there in the neighbourhood quite some times and I know the difference between the altitude on which the avalanche begins and the altitude on which it ends: it must be over 1500 metres!
Great, great shot! Many Compliments. | | Posted Jun 1, 2006 9:32 am |
