Climbers with smaller hands/feet may find liebacking easier than jams on Right Sawdust Crack. Here Lara struts her stuff.- 7 May, 2005

Hand size differential!!

...it's a major pain for us too:

My ideal hand crack size = #2 to #3 Camalot

My wife's ideal hand crack size = #0.75 to #1 Camalot

:)

Great shot Dirk!

Re: Hand size differential!!

That's hilarious. Most people I know can't even get a good fist jamb on a #3 Camalot, let alone perfect hands! That offwidth just got a whole lot easier!

Re: Hand size differential!!

I was not doing well on #.75-#1 Camalot "thin hands" cracks of Jah Man. For me it was impossible (for a while only I hope) off-fingers crack (my wife had easier time).

I find #3.5 camalot to be a decent fist sized crack.

The new guidebook to Indian Creek has a pretty cool discussion of this stuff :)

Re: Hand size differential!!

Yeah, but unfortunately I struggle (read "aid") on what the guidebooks call "thin hands, 9/10a"!!!

:)

I'm a freak...

Re: Hand size differential!!

So that's why you want to go to Indian Creek this year, a new guidebook! You junkie! :-)

If you like thin hands, try Libra Crack at Index, overhanging #1 camalot with no feet, but only "10a". Ha!!!!!!

#2 Camalot is perfect hands for me. #3 is definately fists, but I'm almost 6'-'4". A 5'-7" friend of mine is armlocking on #3!
