Nice photo. I've never tried camping at almost 14,000 feet on Rainier, bet that was interesting!

the area near the saddle was pretty level so digging a platform was pretty easy. the tents worked great. the worst part was the snow blowing into the tent every time we opened the door to work with the stove in the vestibule. the direction we were facing made the snow blow right into my ear. :(

Someone else who had to camp up high. We camped below Liberty Cap when a storm rolled in. We were not so lucky to have a level spot to pitch our tent and had to cut a pad out of a 55 degree ice and snow slope. For some reason no one wanted to sleep on the side of the tent with the 6000+ foot drop. :)

I was amazed that we happened to be in such a good spot when we collapsed. Sounds like you guys had more fun, though. :)
