Beginning the lead of pitch...
Beginning the lead of pitch one of Epinephrine - a 5.8, bolted face for the first 60 feet (kind of thinnish for the grade - I thought we did a 5.10a face the day before that felt comparable?) followed by sparsely bolted 5.8 slab accompanied by horrendous rope drag. Black Tower and the signature chimney pitches (on the right of the tower) can be seen above (5 substantial pitches to top of tower). The dihedral of the upper portion of the route is also visible (look slightly right and above top of tower) already baking in the 6am sun (temps during this heat spell hovered in the low to mid 90's at night). Despite what you might think, it was NOT snowing that day. White flakes are chalk bits reflecting the flash (May 22, 2005).
