I liked it too. The problem is that getting there takes days, not hours and with family it can be tough going away for very long... The North Cascades are not like Mt. Hood, you can't do them and get home in time for lunch.

No, you sure don't. I am shocked how Summer can be so fickle. I did the Timberline trail yesterday on Hood and froze! I have a fire in my fireplace right now... in August!
