Shamasurov's family, whom my parents knew for years, were friendly people.They had a kosh (hut used for summer high in the mountains) in Mirdi valley. The rest of the year they lived (and obviously they still do) in Hurzuk. Here I am riding their donkey near the Uzun-Kol Climbing Camp.
