What is the mountain to the right of the pass? It's quite mean looking. Great shot!

Mt Birdwood- we ski a lot back in Commonwealth Valley, up and around the Fist and Pigstail, etc....just a great valley on the other side of Birdwood...we will cross country ski up Burstall pass, but not as good for backcountry skiing...Birdwood has one published route and I have not done it (yet), an Alpine II, 5.7 up the southeast ridge which you can see in this photo...Thanks Sam!

""You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.""   --Rene Daumal
