My dad climbs off the north end of The Sawtooth (September 7, 2002). Look at the relief in that smile! As you can see there is a good deal of exposure once you cross over from the east face to the west face. The exposure alone wouldn't have been that bad, but the last 200-yard stretch was really loose scree and dirt which afforded no reliable hand or foot holds. I have noted our route with a red line.
