Looking up at the start of...
Looking up at the start of the lower North Ridge from our bivouac at the base of the moraine along the west fork of Mountaineer Creek. The route starts directly up the center of that steep buttress. On the left side of the photo you can seee the Ice Cliff Glacier with it's huge ice wall. Above that, the light streak, is the famous Girth Pillar (V 5.11C AI3).

Cool pic!

So, did you do the full N Ridge last w/e? A friend of mine is

planning on the same, and she might be looking for some beta.

Thanks! We tried the complete, but had some bad routefinding and approach errors on the lower. Wasted a bunch of time, so we just did the upper. What a beautiful route! My first 50 classics.

I have a bunch of pics I'll post tonight.

Cheers,

Martin
