3-July-2005: Looking up the U-notch. Patch of blue ice visible on left side. Bergschrund has snowbridge on right side. Snow quality in couloir reputed to be poor (soft, postholing) - our party climbing Polemonium and North Pal rapped down (it sounded like a clusterf*, complete with stuck ropes, etc.)
