The dark colors of the rock against the blue sky works very well. Is the rock darker in this region for a reason?

Thanks again Marlon. Well, the rock which builds up the main crest of the Allgäu Alps is dolomite, in contrast to a (this time) very fertile variety of limestone dominating the neighbouring subgroup, in which this mountain is the dominating feature.
