Seen here on the left is the Class 4 and 5 section of Mount Bancroft's East Ridge Indirect Route. To the right above the snow on the broken cliff face is a narrow, tilted ledge of tundra. Use this weakness to access steep tundra and broken rock above and climb to the ridge crest. Locating this ramp is essential in keeping the difficulty of this route at Class 3. IU Trekkers outing, July 9, 2005.
