This is a close up of the class 4 chimney at the top of Contact Pass. Near the top of the chimney are old rappel slings; after you reach those it is about 100 more feet of class 3 climbing until a gentel slope of boulder hopping leads to the summit block.

update 7/31/05: I just looked in Secor's book which I do not own and he gives the "contact crack" (pictured here) a 5.2 rating. Knowing that the difference between class 4 and easy class 5 is often debatable, I am leaving the class 4 rating in the route description for this climb rather than going back and changing everything. But I include this info just so you can keep it in mind if you are going to do this route.
