on the ridge at the Bouquetins. Here is the best viewpoint for the further ascent of Grand Cornier (August 2002). Normally there would not be such a big track - because not so many climbers go there -, but the day before 40 man of swiss army climbed Grand Cornier!

Vid PogachnikYour decision?

Mathias, it's great that probably at least part of your decision to climb this mountain was due to your participation on SummitPost. That's how this site fulfills it's mission. Wasn't so?

Yes that is true. I read in a book, that Grand Cornier is an interesting mountain (Hans Steinbichler "Ein Tag in den Bergen"), but probably I would not have remembered that und suggested climbing it to my friends if Diego had not drawn attention to it.

The mission of Sumitpost, in my eyes, is to give information about mountains worldwide in a language that can be understood worldwide. Therefore I would not need Sumitpost for climbing in the alps, because there is more than enough information in my german language. For me it is a great pleasure to read and to "publish" here about the mountains I like.
