View of the East Ridge, which really trends fully southeast but why quibble, from the south on approach. The East Ridge Direct route starts at the 8,350-ft col left of the "solitary gendarme." It's then 800 up and down feet of climbing to get to the summit. July 23, 2005.

Shows the ridge well and the nature of the obstacles you will encounter. The approach photo is helpfull too, though we didn't find it too difficult to wander our way up to the shoulder. Thanks Paul.
