Erin and I couldn't figure out if we were seeing fossils or something else up on Squaretop. Whatever they are, they were very cool!

Perhaps? Also known as "lampshells".

See here. Not the large crinoid in the middle - the debris surrounding it.

See also here for some of our local geological history. Perhaps there may be some similarities - but let me emphasise that I'm no expert.
