Liberty Ridge, Mt Rainier: Alternate approach directly to the Carbon Glacier is from Isput Campground via the Wonderland Trail thru Morraine Park (shown here). This approach is longer by 1.5 miles and has more vertical gain by approx 2000ft, however it avoids crossing St Elmos Pass and the Winthrop Glacier.
