You have to look quite hard to see the caravans of people walking up towards Elbrus's main/west peak. Some are further up the hill in small groups as well.
This is the summit view towards the west from Elbrus's east summit. Well worth a visit!

Voted 10/10 | That row of dots really gives one perspective on the size of the mountain. | | Posted Sep 5, 2005 5:23 pm |

Hasn't voted | Yes, the slope to the summit is quite large. As usual on this kind of peaks you feel very small. | | Posted Sep 6, 2005 6:11 am |

Voted 10/10 | yes, and that's a very special feeling, those few times one is reminded of how tiny a lone human being is in cosmos | | Posted Sep 6, 2005 8:39 am |

Voted 10/10 | I've been on the west summit exactly three weeks ago - great to see the route from this perspective, especially the small "crux" part - traversing between the rocks.
Kind regards,

I just realized I should submit a larger sized version of this photo. The small trains of climbers can hardly be seen on the photo. The "additional" view was interesting for sure and it was also nice to look back at the east summit, when going up the main. | | Posted Sep 12, 2006 11:55 am |
