MA and SP member mtnhiker 13 ascend the south ridge of Mount Carbonate. This climb begins with a bushwack, followed by steep hiking on typically solid Sawatch slopes and ridge lines. The hole in the foreground is a garnet pit likely dug by miners almost 100 years ago. Taylor Mountain rises behind on a glorious Colorado morning. Summer, 2005, Sawatch Range, Colorado.
