M. Forjan setting up anchor on the first pitch of the climb(North Couloir, right) on September 5th, 2005. At the end of this first pitch the hard water ice begins. More pics here

Actually Rob, those are his old G-12's and he was complaining about them the whole time. He said it was the last time for a full day of ice in G-12's...and the tools WERE borrowed (ha ha)...

At that spot I was at a belay anchor that consisted of 2 ice screws (a long one 22cm I believe and a shorter one) that were equalized by a 3/4 in sewn nylon runner. This neve was hard enough to hold very well.
