18-Sept-2005: base of the...

18-Sept-2005: base of the Kindergarten (left) couloir. We soloed up to the first ice patch, where we set up an anchor with screws and pitched out just to get the ropes off our backs. I'd say Craig Peer's description was accurate - perhaps 40 degrees at most.

People do ski down this thing in the winter and spring (and early summer I guess) ... but by late summer / autumn the snow usually turns to neve and ice. It would be a very fast sleigh ride under those conditions :)

Glad you enjoyed it. I bet the couloir you are referring to is steeper and more fun. I don't recall the split in the Kindergarten going anywhere. For where I live the Dana or Solstice couloirs on Mt. Dana are just as enjoyable and closer.
