SW Ridge route (6): Looking...
SW Ridge route (6): Looking up the second ridge. (Hiker is, obviously, coming down.) This is a steep talus slope. There's no exposure, but the footing is precarious at times. We didn't find any "trail", but there was a route that was well-marked by cairns and heavily used. As you approach this ridge on the trail across the tundra, this route is a 100 or so yards to the left of straight ahead and (in the right light) appears as a subtle red "smear" (from disturbed dirt and small rock). It zig-zags up and gradually to the right to reach the top of the ridge just to the left (WEST) of a small knob of talus.
