This is the saddle just north of the top of the boiler plates on the Cottonwood Creek approach (you can't see The Peak or The Needle from the main valley), and if you miss going up into this saddle, you'll end up in the top of the gorge underneath Milwaukee Peak instead of Cottonwood Lake.
