Tristennoeckl / Monte Covoni (2465 m) close to the Hochgall hut (Rifugio Roma) at 2276 meters. You can reach the summit of this rocky "gendarme" following at first the trail from the hut towards the Rieserferner and then, turning on your right, approaching a steep ascent (not difficult) with few ropes helping you to climb when it is quite exposed. You need not more than 30-40 minutes for 200 meters from the hut. A cross is on the top. - August 2005
