These were the conditions in...

These were the conditions in late-September below Chicken Out Ridge. A few inches of snow covered a layer of ice on the rock creating hazardous conditions forcing all parties that weekend (20-22 people I was told) to "chicken out" at the first few pitches of climbing, including myself.

I was really kicking myself Dean. I had a backup plan to do Dickey Peak if there was a lot of snow but my stubborn personality got the best of me and thought what the heck.



I made it, with some churning of the stomach up the first section of COR and turned around to try and find an alternate route but of course there wasn't. I watched a group of two from Nevada and a group of three from Arizona and Utah do the exact same thing. What a bummer, summer's over I guess!
