Snow from several days prior... [ Sizes: Orig | Small | Thumb ]
Snow from several days prior...
Snow from several days prior coated the higher portions of the Northeast Ridge Route of North Maroon Peak. These conditions increased the difficulty of the route at the crux significantly, leading to a decision not to continue to the summit. This was the only mountain Ellen and I climbed this year in which we were not successful, so we can't complain. But we had a glorious fall day as evidenced in this awesome photo of U-shaped Maroon Creek Valley. SP members outing, Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness, Fall, 2005.
