The crux of the climb... a...
The crux of the climb... a 50-foot waterfall. Some may say that this section is Class IV, but I thought it was solid Class III. Note the climber in the upper center of the photograph, right of the waterfall.

...That's what I always tell my friend when we're scrambling waterfalls in Finger Lakes gorges.
Thank's for this picture, now I have a better idea whether or not I could solo the dike, and whether or not it's really necessary to do any "technical" climbing in summer on the crux. "Solid class III" and even IV is doable for me; not vertical rock.
