Nelson - this is a wonderfull shot. I love the contrast between the deep blue sky, the golden rocks and the shadowed foreground. And the climbers sillouette (sp?) puts a great perspective on the scale of it all. Nice!

Polarizer? Shots like this make me realize that I've been mucking around too long with cheap cameras and equipment (or lack thereof actually)...

	Hasn't voted	Hi Rick, thanks for the comment, glad you like the shot. Yes, polarizer for sure. You can tell because the sky gets darker near the top of the photo, as the angle increases to 90 degrees from the sun position relative to the sky nearer the horizon. That upper sky was probably a little darker, but the polarizer increases the effect (not always desirable). This was one of the shots I was anxious to see when the roll came back, it was an amazing scene, I just had to wait for my friend to get in a good position for a silhouette.

...I find so amazing about this shot is the almost duplicate texture--almost an echo--between mountain and clouds. Very, very nice!

	Hasn't voted	Thanks much Vernon! I had to run ahead to try and get my friend in the frame before he totally disappeared behind those rocks. It would have been better if I arrived a few moments sooner and had him in better profile, but it still worked out. Thanks again.

What a truly awesome shot. It makes me want to hike to this place and see it myself although I can't seem to get deep into Glacier Gorge without the weather turning nasty on me.

	Hasn't voted	Thanks much for the comment. I know what you mean about the weather there. A lot of people get to Mills Lake, which is certainly nice enough, but it only gets better as you keep going. Those early starts really count there. Try to find the turn off to Solitude Lake up by the Arrowhead. A bit of a grunt getting up there but an amazing place. Good luck next time you are up there.
