The reward for the steep...
The reward for the steep switchbacks ascending to the PCT is alpine meadows and their marvels, like this tiger lilly. The views from Red and White passes are also outstanding, but even on late July days like this one, the weather can be misty and visibility low. Copyright Scott Veirs, 2001.

lcarreauLillies in the mist ...

Voted 10/10

GREAT tiger lily inside it's natural habitat.
The Carbon Glacier side of Mount Rainier - lots of tiger lillies in Moraine Park. At least there were back in the 1980s.

Beam me up, Scotty! But ... not until I've looked at your images.
