Man, I wish that TH was open in the winter. I would love to do this route again in December. I thought the West Ridge was much better than the standard, what did you think? Thanks for posting this shot and reminding me of how cool that mountain is.

Kane,

Actualy I like both the north and west ridges... When I climberd the north ridge it was as a snowshoe juant in march... and it was hard. The summit ride was very brief but worthwhile... The west ridge real requires dedication. The broad flat portion of the ridge made me feel like I was wandering aimlessly through the wilderness, it was a little disconcerting. I thought it a truimph in my dead reckoning skills when I got up on the talus strewn subsummit and spoted the real summit. I never even pulled out my compass. The west ridge may be objectively easier then the north ridge but an 8 mile bushwack is a task for the dedicated. Thank you for recomending the route to me (I've been meaning to try it ever since you talked about it on our Terah Tomah/Julian trip last year). It was nice to have finaly visited Lost Park too.
