That's the typical local architecture for high pastures huts - in many places it's very similar to Nepal's.

Unfortunately the front of these huttes is actually damaged; I hope that will be restored...The roof is round, like half a circle. Were built in this way to resist in winter avoiding the damages of the avalanches.

The roof of some huts has a barrel vault and they are builded partially underground for the reason explained by Maria Grazia.
