Nothing is whited out - the clouds were playing around the mountain which was sometimes in and sometimes out. The "cordory" ( corduroy ) effect is that you are looking at 4 to 6 inches of new snow on ledges separating steeper rock bands - the rock in Glacier is sedimentary and faces such as this tend to be "stair steps" of short cliffs with narrow ledges between.

KlenkeReminds me of Suilven

This stratified peak reminds me of Suilven in North Scotland. Good pic just the same.

Interesting peak - I did not realize that there was anything quite so free standing in Scotland - thanks for the links.

Yeah, Suilven is a fantastic site in that area of Scotland. It's not very high but it does have a lot of local relief. Plus, it (along with Canisp) sits out on its own. It's a tourist trap kind of place around there.

Scotland is my favorite country outside of the U.S.
