Why camp at the trailhead... [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Why camp at the trailhead...
Why camp at the trailhead when you can crash on the summit and have views like this? Summit of the South Sister with views of Middle Sister, Three Finger Jack, North Sister, Jefferson, Hood and Adam. Although not viewed in this image we could also see St. Helens and Rainier. Photo taken on August 1, 2005 by Michael Robert.

We camped around 7200ft, when we got to the top the next day I was already thinking about doing it again so we could stay on top. cheers!

I would highly recommend a night on top! We bivied behind the rock wall about a hundred feet below the summit proper. If the weather is nice I would leave the tent behind and use that option. Cheers
