Thumb Rock, the Konwakiton... [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Thumb Rock, the Konwakiton...
Thumb Rock, the Konwakiton Glacier and the Red Banks on August 12, 2001. The climber is ascending the Sargents Ridge route which joins the Avalanche Gulch above Red Banks. Late in the season, this is also a popular descent route back to Lake Helen. Traveling this way, the upper Red Banks look like Utah slot canyons (but of course are not very deep).
