Don't EVER run it out on this rock. Otherwise you might as well be soloing. It is worse than sandstone.

The rock protects well, as well as granite. I've never had a piece pull in a fall. Pilot error is what kills.

I understand that some of the cracks at Vantage take a little more tinkering to get just right - most cams, especially in the bigger cracks, you should extend with runners just to avoid walking into bigger slots of the cracks, ultimately losing your placement - but the rock is solid and as long as you don't place a piece in a loose block then you should be fine. I agree with jplotz, although I do also agree that the ground has a tendency to be too hard for falling humans.
