Le Conte Peak from our bivy site [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Le Conte Peak from our bivy site
We had no decent photos of the bivouac spot we found on the west slopes of Sentinel Peak above the South Cascade Glacier. We were able to get through the saddle before the clouds arrived, but had only a few minutes to spare. The weather then worsened dramatically and we were lucky to find the bivy spot in the driving wind. We spent two nights at the site. Then the following morning we were above the clouds and had this view of Le Conte Peak to our north. August 7, 1988.
