Very near and far away: my own footsteps in the frozen snow high on the Susa Valley watershed and, almost 300kms away, the faint line of the Southern Alps, the Appennino Ligure and the Appennino Tosco Emiliano. Very few places in Europe allow such a grandiose view as the "inner" border of the Alps towards Italy.
