| brenta | Tour des Jorasses? | |
Voted 10/10 | Great picture of a most beautiful mountain, Antonio.
Is the Tour des Jorasses the one in the lower right corner?
Are the Rochers Whymper at the upper left? Thanks! | | Posted Dec 27, 2005 11:36 am |
 | | signorellil | Re: Tour des Jorasses? | | Voted 10/10 | On the upper left you've the summit of the Pt. Whymper, with the Rochers Whymper reaching it. Superimposed, you've the top of the Tour des Jorasses. The pillar on the lower righr is the summit of the so called Ghiglione Pillar, where a fine but rather neglected route goes. | | Posted Dec 27, 2005 1:52 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Thanks! I was misled by that beautiful dihedral, which I thought may be the one of the Calcagno route. Is that one visible in this picture? And, if I'm not asking too many questions, where does the Ghiglione-Ottoz route climb the pillar? | | Posted Dec 27, 2005 11:40 pm |
 | | signorellil | Re: Tour des Jorasses? | | Voted 10/10 | No, the Calcagno dihedral is a bit more down to the bottom right ot the picture.
The Ghiglione-Ottoz route goes on the L flank of the pillar, near the crest (basically following the R face of evident dihedral). | | Posted Dec 28, 2005 6:11 pm |
| livioz | E adesso? | |
Voted 10/10 | Peccato, avrebbe meritato di certo un posto d'onore nel mio collage delle Grandes Jorasses purtroppo già inviato a SP...
What a pity! It should have deserved a place of honour inside my GJ collage unfortunately already sent to SP... | | Posted Dec 27, 2005 3:18 pm |
