Saddleback Lakes- background shows the 3rd gulley- easiest way up or down the Perch. 30 minutes if you take this gully down after a technical climb.

Hi Sean,



thanks for adding the scrambling route information to the E. Perch page! So the 3rd gully you mention is the rightmost gully in this photo (just right of center one?)?



The two times we've been there, we've taken the gully that traverses the base of E. Perch (1st gully I think?). The section at the bottom of it felt more like 5.6 IMHO (we rapped it; and on the way up we belayed it).



This is great info! thank you for adding. I will add links to it on Mounties and Sunrise route pages.

RPC- thanks for the nice comments. Yes the easiest gully is the the right most one shown in the picture. It's tempting to use the 1st or 2nd gully, or even the north slopes of the Perch, but most climbers want the most time on the routes and less on the approach. Glad it's useful- after many climbing and non-climbing trips to the Perch I learned this.
