Action below Pico de la... [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Action below Pico de la...
Action below Pico de la Maladeta (3.308 m / 10,853 ft), to the left and outside of the image. To the right, Roca de los Dos Hombres (3.265 m / 10,712 ft). The climbers are ascending Collado (col) de la Rimaya (3.225 m / 10,581 ft). We were too tired to try it and the snow was very deep. There was a storm after we'd decide to descend on our skis. My altimeter showed 3.030 m / 9,941 ft on that place, Glaciar de la Maladeta. Taken by Astrid García on May 5, 2002.

I think the black & white makes it more interesting.

Thanks Marc but it was my sister-in-law who took it. The film was black & white so it isn't a scan trick.

I was a little weak that day (I'm better as climber than as ski-mountaineer) I think I still hadn't reached that place.

Sí señor, la foto es buena de por sí pero el blanco y negro la hace aún más interesante. Y es todo un cambio con respecto a lo habitual en estas páginas. Mi enhorabuena a Astrid también (y gracias a tí, Diego, por colgarla
