This is Dee Molenaar, author of the book, "Challenge of Rainier", a must read if you are going to climb this mountain. I met him and his son just above Pebble Creek as I descended the mountain. His son was 11 in 1969 so that'd make him over 50 years old today. I've included this pic as Dee Molenaar is a big part of Mt. Rainier and his contributions to Mt. Rainier are tremendous. He was nice enough to pose for me on this August day back in 1969. I really liked the father-son relationship demonstrated here. I also got my kids into the mountains and as a result, they all love them like I do.
