A mysterious lone climber beat us to the top of Mt. Carmel that day. Any idea who it might be? - December 29, 2002

It is hard to judge since there is noting to scale the tracks on but it is most likely a Bobcat.

they are about 2" long

That meas it is too small for a Cougar and too big for a fox so old Felis Rufus is about right. I sould say.



The only 100% way to know is to see the critter actually making the track.

Thanks! It was funny to follow these steps all the way to the summit. I wonder if this guy is a mountaneer or just choose a trail over thick bushes around it.. :)

We found a bunch of his marks on the summit as well
