although it doesn't depict the difficulties in the least! It doesn't get hard until up at the 14 thousand foot level (the false summit looking region in this photo). At the time the west ridge of Quandary was the scariest thing I had done. I had just started climbing fourteeners 3 weeks before and crossing at the head of a loose coulior on this route scared the bejesus out of me. I still dream of the way rocks accelerate down that chute and EXPLODE on the boulders below.
