IntroductionThis page lists the peaks in California with at least 14,000 feet of elevation. The YDS class listed corresponds to the least technically-demanding route to the summit. The easiest route listed is based on YDS class, distance and elevation gain.
Speed RecordThe current speed record for climbing all 15 California 14ers listed above is 62 hours and 3 minutes. It was done in August of 2012 by Sean O'Rourke. The current women's speed record was done by Andrea Sansone in seven days, 11 hours and 22 minutes during July and August 2017. The current self-supported record with cycling between the trailheads is 9 days, 20 hours and 41 minutes. It was done in August of 2014 by Sam Skrocke.
Age RecordI believe the youngest person to climb all the ranked 14ers is Tyle Smith at the age of 8 (http://www.thedogteam.com/14ers-Web_Pages/14ers-History/14ers-History.html, R.J. Secor, personal communication, September 8, 2006). I believe the youngest female to climb all of the ranked 14ers is Sierra Richins at the age of 13.
