Sun Going Down on Baron Spire [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Sun Going Down on Baron Spire
West face of Baron Spire with evening shadows lengthening (July, 2002). The north face (on the left side of spire) is the longest technical climb in the Sawtooths and consists of 18 pitches. R. Dowdle notes that it is comparable to the Beckey-Chouinard route on the Howser Towers in the Bugaboos in length and setting, but substantially harder (Lopez, 2000).
