Poughkeepsie Gulch [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Poughkeepsie Gulch
Poughkeepsie Gulch, as seen from Hurrican Pass. The jeep road descending this drainage is one of the toughest in Colorado and is impractical for mountain climbers unless they are 4WD enthusiasts as well. This is in the Ouray Group of mountains in the San Juan Range. The Sneffels Range is on the horizon. Summer, 1983.

"As an adolescent I aspired to lasting fame, I craved factual certainty, and I thirsted for a meaningful vision of human life - so I became a scientist. This is like becoming an archbishop so you can meet girls."   --M. Cartmill
