Vernon Garner (saintgrizzly on SP) pauses with his jeep CJ5 (now long gone) at the top of Hurricane Pass, which crosses the north ridge of Hurricane Peak in the Ouray Group of the San Juan Mountains. The butress leads to the summit of Hurricane Peak. When this photo was taken, the pass to Gray Copper Gulch was a dead end. In recent years, it was completed, making it the newest and last jeep road in the San Juans. Summer, 1983.
