VelebitWhat a beauty!

Fantastic shot, great colors! Santis and area around it are so beautiful, hope to go there some day. Chances are not so high because when you go on such a long trip there are too many 4000+ peaks to climb first. Somehow it would be silly to travel 1000 km to climb a peak that can be reached by cable car :-) Could be nice at the end of the trip.

Thanks for the cheers. Of course you're right to prefer the 4000+ peaks as they're not that frequented. Säntis has an easy access and especially in summer lots of tourists from nearby Germany and Austria. In winter chances are good to make some tours within the Säntis range (Alpstein) without running into more than a handful other mountaineers. Even in summer it is quite easy to be for yourself when choosing off-track tours. Just keep off the main peak (although a good starting point sometimes). By the way, there are some challenging climbing routes too (Hundstein, Kreuzberge, etc.)
