I'd give this picture an 11 if I could.

Thanks mrh. The photo really doesn't even do it justice.

One of the best- captures just how big this peak is compared to the surrounding terrain

Thanks Sean. Not sure if you’ve ever been over on that side, but the climb up from Baker Lake, especially the last half mile or so up to Castle Divide is just awesome. Castle Peak is in your face the whole time.

Impressive. Is that a rock glacier at its foot?

Interesting question. I’m not positive, but I don’t believe so. The climate in this part of Idaho probably is not optimal for a rock glacier (But I don’t have any expertise on the subject.) It does look pretty similar to other photos of rock glaciers that are out there.

Thanks, glad you liked it. It was a beautiful day, with lots of color contrast between the blue skies, white rock, new green foliage, and patches of snow.

Big pretty much sums it up. Castle towers over all surrounding peaks, and is easy to identify from a long way away in all directions.

Thanks Abram. Castle is obviously huge from all directions, but this is the most impressive angle to view the peak from, in my opinion.
