Painted Arete [ Sizes: Orig | Small | Thumb ]
Painted Arete
The Painted Arete on the Painted Wall in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, Colorado. Layton Kor and I did the 1st ascent in June of 1962. The route is over 2000 feet long. The white "X" indicates our bivouac site.

You're right ... wish I was still young enough to do a couple more routes in the ol' canyon.
I've really enjoyed looking at your climbing pictures ... looks like you're a helluva good climber.

thanks Jim apprecaite the good word but that's a negative on me being a good climber!!

certainly not good enough for most stuff I've been daydreaming about in the gunnison :(

(looking at that guidebook makes me wish I were better)
